Meet the Program Managers-Dan

Hello! My name is Daniel and I am a program manager for Vocational Services here at Goodwill.  I currently oversee student work programming called Youth Employment Services, along with the Prevocational Training program for those with an Intellectual Disability.  I am responsible for helping these individuals gain soft skills to better prepare them for community employment someday so they have the best chance to succeed outside of a Goodwill setting.  We want the people we serve to be able to be as self-sufficient as they possibly can and gaining and maintaining community employment goes a long way towards that goal.

What do you wish you knew more about?

  • I wish I knew more about how to play the guitar. I joke that I am great with the plastic guitar because I like to play games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero in my free time, but I have always had a desire to learn how to play the actual guitar.  Some day I hope to do so.

What would be your idea way to spend the weekend?

  • My ideal way to spend a weekend is being able to relax and not have to feel the need to run all over the place. With 2 daughters involved in several activities, it is nice to be able to just take a breather, but even then my oldest is involved in club volleyball which takes place on weekends.  Just constantly on the move!

What is something you think everyone should do once in their lives?

  • I think everyone should have the opportunity to see their favorite musician or band live. I will never forget the first concert I went to was Disturbed when they came to Sioux City way back in the early 2000s, and it was an amazing experience.  I love listening to music, and I just love the atmosphere of a concert.  It is something everyone should get to experience.
