After working in with the Pre-voc program, Eli is now employed in supported community employment. He had experience running the balers and working in retail at Sioux City main.
Eli is a good worker and has proven that he is ready for community employment. With the help of a Sioux City job coach, Eli completed applications for employment as janitor, package handler, retail backroom worker and others. In early June, Eli interviewed with Sears for a back room associate position and was hired for approximately 25 hours per week. The job entails assembling merchandise, helping customers with getting their merchandise to their cars and other backroom duties. Eli is doing a good job and has developed natural supports with his supervisor and peer workers. He has created his success with the skills that he has learned while at Goodwill of the Great Plains.
