These guys are treasures over here in Rapid City, and each one of them inspires all of us every day!

I think the world of these guys!”
– Stan Erickson/Retail Manager

Renzel, Jim and Paul

Renzel came to us in May of 2014 as a participant.  He was then hired by the Retail Department in August of the same year.  Renzel started as a General Retail Worker and has advanced to a Lead Position in the back room.  Renzel has this to say about his experience with Goodwill for the last 3 years:
“This place (Goodwill) helped me learn to help myself.”

Jim has the most time with Goodwill; as a participant first in November of 2013.  Jim was hired by the store as a General Retail Worker in February of 2014 upon completion of his program.  Jim moved to the Mission Services Department as a Skills Trainer in January of 2016.  Jim now has the opportunity to work with and encourage participants as they come in to our programs to go forward and succeed.
Jim always says to others:
“My disability used to be my life, but thanks to Goodwill and my achievements, it is now just part of my life.”

Paul began his Work Adjustment Training Program in July of 2014 and was hired by the Retail Department in November of 2014.  Paul had not worked steadily since his injury, and came to Goodwill with a number of challenges.  Paul enjoys his work and serving on the Safety Committee.  Paul shares his story with everyone he is able to, and he credits his program and Goodwill for helping him move ahead.
Paul has been here nearly 3 years and wanted people to know:
“I like working here because it’s good for my memory and I like working with the people.”
